An Unexpected March from Middlesbrough!!!
Hace casi dos meses nadie hubiese imaginado esta situación. La marcha de Aitor Karanka, el entrenador que consiguió reflotar y alzar a la máxima categoría inglesa al Middlesbroug, la Premier League.
A decision had to be made, and without him here, nothing made sense.
I am sorry I have to say farewell to a really special opportunity, which I have tried to savor from the very first moment. I will always feel grateful to Víctor Orta, as well as to Aitor Karanka and his staff. Besides, I would do it again.
You must take decisions in life and, despite the results, having the opportunity to live this has been wonderful to me. I have been lucky to meet goalkeepers of the stature of Víctor Valdés, which has proved to be an unforgettable experience.
Thanks to all the staff in the club, players… I would just want to wish them the best for the future. For their supporters and their history, they deserve to stay in the highest level

Today is a very difficult day for me. I have received an offer to join Middlesbrough in the Premier League immediately. You don't choose the moments, but it is a very important professional opportunity.
After seven seasons and almost 300 games I only have words of gratitude to Elche C.F., the city and all the fans who have shown a lot of respect and consideration.
When you look back you feel the obligation to thank all the coaches and technical staff for their trust year after year. They have helped me grow professionally and personally. But also, I have formed a family with all the components, props, medical staff, players, club workers... And what can I say about my goalkeepers; Without them, the path would not have been the same nor as exciting and enriching.
For me, Elche is much more than the club that gave me the opportunity to be in the football elite. Elche will always be in my heart and so will all the people who have been part of it in recent years. I will always be another green franji.
And I will never stop being an Elche native either. I found my wife here and she will make me linked to the city forever.
